Marijuana Cultivation in Cape Fair

On February 27th, 2013, Deputies from the Stone County Sheriffs Office and Officers from the COMET Drug Task Force went to 471 Battersea Park Road in Cape Fair for the report of a possible drug activity.  Upon arrival at the residcene, they observed pots setting next to the residence with green stalks in them which they observed as marijuana.    They attempted to make contact with the occupants at the residence and got no answer.  They then applied for and obtained search warrants for the residence.

Upon execution of the search warrant, they recovered over 50 marijuana plants from 2 to 3 feet tall, marijuana which was processed and packaged, marijuana paraphernalia used in the selling and cultivation of marijuana, and a several grow lights with timers.

Christopher Briley arrived on scene prior to the execution of the search warrant.

Christopher Daniel Briley, a 35 yr old male from Cape Fair, was arrested and transported to the Stone County Jail.  On February 28th, he was charged with the following:

Class A Felony Manf/Prod or Atmpt to Manf/Prod > 5 Grams Marijuana in Residence W/Child or W/In 2000 Ft of School, College, School Bus  

Class B Felony Dist/Del/Manf/produce or Attempt to or Possess W/intent To Dist/Del/Manf/Produce a Controlled Substance

Class C Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams Or Less of Marijuana

He is currently incarcerated at the Stone County Jail with a bond of $75,000.00 Cash Only.
