On Monday, April 22nd, 2013, Stone County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Selby was presented a Probable Cause Statement and based on the facts of the case presented, filed the following charges.

Carmen Martin Ramos-Herrera, a 42 year old male who resided at the residence at 128 Fritts Way, was charged with

Assault 1st Degree- Serious Physical Injury Class A Felony

Armed Criminal Action An Unclassified Felony

His bond was set at $250,000.00 cash or surety. He remains incarcerated at the Stone County Jail at this time.

Upon further investigation of the case, it was determined the two individuals were residing at the same residence and there had been an ongoing disagreement throughout the day. As time progressed, it became physical and then a weapon was pulled and discharged. The victim was shot in the foot and was treated for his injuries at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

Based on information presented, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on him.
