Shooting in Northern Stone County

On Sunday, April 13^th, 2014, at approx 5:45 PM, Stone County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the North Part of Stone County off State Highway M for the report of a gunshot.  When they arrived on scene, they observed a male individual lying in the living room floor with a gunshot wound to the chest.  The victim, a 56 yr old white male was determined to be deceased after medical personnel arrived on scene.

The case is still an active investigation and names will be released after notification of relatives.

Update:

The victim of the gunshot has been identified as Garrett Dean Davidson, a 56 yr old male who resided on Richwood Schoolhouse Road, Clever, Missouri, off M Highway in Stone County.

On Sunday evening when Deputies and State Patrol arrived at the residence, they located Garrett Davidson lying in the floor with a gunshot wound to the chest.  The autopsy which was performed on Monday, April 14, 2014, determined the cause of death to be a single gunshot to the chest.  His wife, Cherlynn Davidson, was present at the residence and was taken into custody for questioning.  During a later interview at the Sheriff’s Office, she stated to detectives they had been arguing and she pointed a gun at him and it discharged while in her hands. 

On Monday, Detectives spoke with the Prosecuting Attorney, Matt Selby, and he filed the following charges on her:

Cherlynn Ranee Davidson, a 58 yr old female also resided at the residence in Stone County,

Class C Felony Involuntary Manslaughter 1^st Degree

Class C Felony Domestic Assault 2^nd Degree – 1^st Offense

Unclassified Felony Armed Criminal Action – 2 Counts

 

Cherlynn remains incarcerated in the Stone County Jail with a bond of $100,000.00 Cash Only.
