PRESS RELEASE

On Saturday, May 30th, 2009, a 22 yr old female was assaulted while at the lake in Shell Knob. A joint investigation by both Stone and Barry County Deputies led to the arrest of:

Rebecca Joan Lange, a 36 yr old white female from Shell Knob.

Rebecca has been charged with a Class A Charge of First Degree Felony Assault. She is currently incarcerated at the Stone County Jail with a bond set at $100.000.00 cash only.

During the investigation it was determined that both the victim and arrestee were at the Big Bay Boat Ramp in Shell Knob when an argument ensued between several parties. Witness statements identified Rebecca as hitting the victim in the stomach with a steel bar. The victim was taken to St Johns Hospital in Cassville where she was treated and released after observation. Detectives are still investigating the case.
