Press Release

34-year-old Telisha Marie Fletcher and 21-year-old Autumn Shalottie Chambers, both of Springfield, MO were arrested and charged with 2 counts of burglary in Stone County.

On the morning of May 7, 2012, Stone County detectives acted on a tip from a Greene County Detective indicating there were possible burglary suspects checking out residences in the northern part of Stone County near the Christian County line. The suspect vehicle was described as an older model black Mitsubishi. Detectives and patrol deputies began actively seeking the suspect vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, a residential burglary was reported at 13218 Reno Springs Road. As deputies investigated the burglary report, a Christian County Deputy noticed a black Mitsubishi matching the suspects description parked in the drive of an unoccupied residence on State Highway 176 in Christian County near the Stone County line. At that location, a female suspect was observed at the door to that residence while a second female suspect remained in the vehicle.

As the deputy approached the vehicle it was noted that there were tools commonly used during burglaries on the ground near the vehicle. On making contact with the vehicle occupant, the deputy noted the vehicle's back seat contained a number of articles that were suspicious. These items included two laptop computers. Stone County Detectives were notified and responded to their location near Spokane. The property owner on Reno Springs Road had reported two green laptop computers, and a laptop cooling pad stolen from his residence.

On their arrival, Stone County detectives noted the two green laptop computers and a laptop cooling pad in the rear seat that matched those reported stolen. Christian County Deputies released the vehicle and suspects to Stone County Detectives. Both female suspects were arrested and transported to the Stone County Jail. The vehicle was towed to the Stone County Sheriff's Office and impounded. A search warrant was sought and issued for the vehicle. During the search, detectives recovered several articles reported stolen from 13218 Reno Springs Road and recovered additional articles including a cloth bag that had a name and address tag affixed. The address was listed as 489 Shop Hollow Road. While the vehicle was still being searched, a property owner at 489 Shop Hollow Road reported a burglary and listed the bag as stolen. Victims have identified several recovered stolen articles including the laptop computers.

Fletcher and Chambers remain in the Stone County Jail on $50.000 bond each.
