On 06-10-15, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Kimberling City Police Department was dispatched to
Little Oaks Apartments at 99 Oak Drive in Kimberling City, MO for a stabbing. After Officers
arrived on scene they found a male subject with stab wounds. He was transported to the
hospital. While Officers were on scene they discovered some evidence that led them to call in
Detectives from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office.

After Detectives with the Stone County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene they started their
investigation. During this investigation, a deceased male subject was found in an apartment.
The victim had multiple stab wounds but cause of death will be determined by an autopsy on
Friday.  A death investigation was then started with the Stone County Sheriff’s Department and the Kimberling City Police Department. Officers were on scene for approximately 10 hours
processing the crime scene.

The victim is identified as James V. Martinico, 69 years old of Kimberling City.
At this time there are several subjects that are being investigated as people of interest. This is an
ongoing investigation.
