Recovered Stolen Property

09/29/2010

In the early morning hours of September 29th, Stone County Deputies responded to a call of Shots Fired in the area of Dockhouse Lane, a road off Bear Den Cove on Y-Highway in Stone County. While enroute they came upon a truck roadside parked near the intersection Highway Y and Bear Den Cove with air conditioner units in the rear of it. A search of the area was conducted and no one was located.

Later that morning, the driver of the truck, Dylan Foster, a 20 yr old male from Crane, called 911 and reported the vehicle stolen from the Cox River Access in Galena.

After further investigation, it was determined the air conditioner units were stolen from the Branson Bluffs Motel located off Dockhouse Lane. The motel has been closed down and has been vandalized several times in the last few years. As the day progressed Detectives conducted several interviews with victims, witnesses and suspects. On Thursday, Detective Matt Maggard got a break and got information that there was more stolen property from the motel stored at a residence in Galena. Detective Maggard applied for and received a search warrant for the residence of Rhonda Long, a 43 yr old female, located at 303 Fir Street, Galena.

After execution of the search warrant, Detectives recovered 4 truckloads of household items that were stolen from the motel.
Arrested in the case were:
