Working from a tip that the homicide suspect, Ernest Doyle Chastain Jr, was staying at a local Galena campground, Stone County deputies and the Stone County Special Response Team placed a local Galena motel under surveillance during the night.

Shortly after 7:00 am, Chastain was observed walking toward the red SUV that he was reported taken after the homicide in Omaha, Arkansas. He was taken into custody without incident by the Stone County Special Response Team along with a female who was staying in the room with him.

Chastain is currently being held in the Stone County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in front of the Stone County Associate Judge later this morning to determine if he will sign extradition papers to be returned to Arkansas.

Search warrants are being served on the room Chastain spent in night in and the SUV for any possible evidence associated to the homicide.

Ernest Doyle Chastain Jr, homicide suspect from Omaha Arkansas has signed a Waiver of Extradition and was released to the Boone County Arkansas Authorities for transfer to their facilities.

The female located and brought in with Chastain, has been questioned and released.
