News Release

At approximately 6:05 today, March 1,2011, Stone County E911 received a call of a house fire at 113 Oak Street, Galena, Mo.  Northern Stone Northeast Barry County Fire Protection District was called to the scene.

 

When Stone County Deputy Sgt. Trent Massey arrived, he found the house fully engulfed.  The house was a total loss, and a 65 year old female, who resides in the home, was unable to escape from the fire.  It is unknown as to the cause of the fire at this time. Members of the Missouri State Fire Marshals were called in to investigate the fire. 

 

Victim:  Jacqualyn Sue Oberdiek, age 65.
